Gunning Bedford, Jr. Delaware 1747-1812 Signer, U.S. Constitution Gunning Bedford, Jr., was a patriotic statesman of the Revolution. He was chosen governor of Delaware in 1796, and he discharged the duties of his office to the general satisfaction. He was then appointed district judge of the United States court, and he continued to hold that office until his death in 1815.
